TATouch™
further utilises technology to speed up data entry, particularly patient
centric disease assessment scores. Based around a touch screen, either a
touch screen monitor or a touch screen Tablet PC, patients are able to
complete assessments such as the HAQ score on their own, freeing up valuable
clinician time. Connected to a
TAScoring™
database, collected
data is fully accessible through the patient tree list and reporting tools.
Keeping in Touch with
Patients
Patient involvement in collecting data via touch screens has been met with a
high level of patient approval and support. A recent trial of TATouch at
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gateshead indicated patient approval in the 90%
region. With services moving out into the community and patients requiring
more convenient ways to receive care, the use of touch screen technology and
other initiatives can contribute significantly to more efficient data
collection and analysis while enabling secondary care clinicians to still
keep in touch with their patients.
